·        To manage safe and cost –effective mining and development of ore reserves according to scope and plan in order to ensure the profitability of the organisation

·        Ensure that mining systems, processes, policies, procedures, standards and resources are in place and aligned to meet short and long term demands of the operation

·        Define in consultation with the Mine/ General Manager the monthly, quarterly and yearly production objectives

·        Leadership regarding all aspects of mining operations especially Health and Safety, Rock Engineering/strata Control, Production, Occupational Hygiene, Cost and Planning in order to profitably mine the operation

·        Ensure availability of labour, machines, equipment and material to support production plan

·        Comply with all legislations as described in his /her appointment letter

·        Implement health and safety policies and procedures within area of responsibility

·        Ensure that Code of Practice are complied with and reviewed as appropriate, apply management of change processes

·        Ensure that that staff is appropriately supervised, trained and developed

·        Establish and maintain cohesive, and high performance teamwork

·        Demonstrate visible felt leadership by developing self and adopting a collaborative leadership style aligned to Harmony values
